We're in a constant state of beta. We're always testing and learning, and because it's what we get paid for, we're constantly creating. Believe it or not, that takes a toll on the human psyche.
In 2014, we made a significant shift by transitioning to a fully-remote, work-from-home agency. And we did so at a time when it was far from the norm. This move allowed our team members to eliminate commutes, create personalized schedules, and spend more time with their families and loved ones. We hoped it might lead to a happier, more connected team that continues producing innovative and impactful work.
The result? Lo and behold, it worked. Years later, in a time when the global pandemic of 2020 flipped entire industries on their heads, our team was unaffected by any significant cultural or operational shift. And many others took note, looking toward us for advice and guidance during uncertain times.
In 2022, we took another step toward promoting work-life balance by implementing a 4-day workweek policy. Now, our team gets to enjoy one 4-day work week per month, with additional time to rest, pursue personal interests, and come back to work (hopefully!) feeling refreshed and inspired.
Moreover, it's been proven time and time again there is value in taking a collective break to relax and refocus. And while there are many other benefits aside from mental wellness, this was the core reasoning behind why we decided to shut down our operations for two full weeks each year – once in the summer and again at year-end. These scheduled breaks allow our team to fully disconnect, recharge, and return to work with renewed energy and creativity.
At Culture Pilot, we're committed to fostering a culture that prioritizes work-life balance, knowing that it's essential for maintaining our creative edge and overall well-being. By continually exploring new ways to support our team members, we're confident that we can continue to thrive as an agency, for ourselves, and for every brand we engage.
